The FuturICT flagship proposal intends to unify hundreds of the best scientists in Europe in a 10 year 1 billion EUR program to explore social life on earth and everything it relates to. The FuturICT flagship proposal will produce historic breakthroughs and provide powerful new ways to manage challenges that make the modern world so difficult to predict, including the financial crisis. Meetings:

  • The 1st meeting of the Portuguese Section, was held at the Lisbon University Institute, on Monday 30th of May, 2011.
  • The 2nd meeting was held at the Lisbon University Institute, on Friday 4th of November, 2011.
  • The 3rd meeting will be held at ISCTE-Lisbon University Institute, on Tuesday 24th of April, 2012, starting at 17h30, at Clube ISCTE-Ala Autónoma, with the presence of Steven Bishop, the Management Coordinator of FuturICT. Steven Bishop is a Professor of Mathematics, specialising in Non-Linear Dynamics and Complex Systems, at University College London. Inscription: please send an e-mail to Marisa Manteigas - marisa.alexandra.manteigas@iscte.pt, informing your Name, E-mail and Institution. Inscription is mandatory and is free - do it as soon as possible, since places are limited ! After the formal presentation, FuturICT will offer a reception to the Portuguese Section. We will have the opportunity to enjoy a drink while discussing informaly with Steven Bishop. All the members of the Portuguese Section are very welcome !
